Hiut Denim

Last week I visited somewhere I’ve wanted to go for ages.  And I spent more money on a single pair of jeans (again) than I’ve spent on a whole suit in the past!

Why the hell would I do that?

1. They are Hiuts. Simply the best quality jeans I have ever owned (this is my second pair).  Beautifully designed and made with passion.  They will last a lifetime and get better and better as they age
2. The brand. Hiut Denim Co are an amazing company, genuinely trying to do good things in the world.  Their philosophy of “do one thing and do it well” has been an inspiration to me (and quite a challenge) in my own business
3. They are handmade, by industry experts here in the UK.  In Hiut’s case on the beautiful coast of West Wales.  That’s something I’m happy to pay extra to support

The factory was on their summer holiday shutdown so I didn’t get to see the Grand Masters in action this time.  However, the team running the factory shop were still fantastic – friendly, helpful and super engaging.

Before buying my first pair of Hiuts three years ago, I had wanted some for ages.  When I first heard about their mission I thought “That’s something I want to support.  Something I want to be a part of.”  You can read more about it here:

You don’t get that kind of customer response without a genuine mission and a superb product.  Hiut have both.  I haven’t been asked to write this.  I’m just a very happy customer and raving fan.

I never spend money on clothes just because of the name on them.  I’m not fabulously wealthy.  But quality and expertise is worth paying for and Hiut jeans definitely tick those boxes.

And I guess the manufacturing geek in me will just have to plan another road-trip to Cardigan to see the factory when it’s running at full tilt!

Now if the weather would cool down enough for me to wear them daily, that would be great!
